North Tipperary Rural Transport

Transport services for those living in rural and isolated areas in North Tipperary.

Who Are We?

We are a Rural Community Transport Service operating in North Tipperary which is managed by North Tipperary LEADER Partnership and funded by the Dept. of Transport under The National Development Plan 2007-2013.

We provide subsidised transport to and from areas of North Tipperary not well served by Public or Private transport companies.

We provide access to local services such as Post Offices, Shops, Doctors, Hospitals, Active Age groups, Day Care services, Health Centres and social outings.

Services  Offered

The service currently operates 27 routes in North Tipperary, mainly transporting people living in rural or isolated areas to the the larger towns such as Nenagh, Roscrea, Thurles, Templemore and Birr.

Q. Do you accept Free Travel Passes ?

A. Yes, All Free Travel Passes are accepted.

 

Q. Who can use this service ?

A.  It is for everyone – locals, tourists, young, old, school-goers, employed, in fact anyone who wants to get out and about.

 

Q. What can this bus service do for me ?

A. The service can be used to visit friends, access the local Doctor, Post Office, Hospital, pay bills, or to do shopping, also one can access employment & training courses, or just to enjoy the social and recreational activities in your area.

 

Q. How do I get on the bus ?

A. For First time users, just contact Louise at the Rural Transport Office in Borrisokane at 067-27088 or Joan Ryan in Kilcommon 0504 54555. You will need to give us the following details, your name, address, telephone number, direction to your house.

 

Q. Where do I get the bus from ?

A. At your door, outside your house or at an agreed pick-up point as indicated on the timetable. It is a door to door service.

 

Q. Where does the bus drop me off when I get in to Town?  (Destination)?

A. There are specific drop off points in each town – we can be flexible with drop off requests.
