Community Employment Programme (CE)
The aim of the scheme is to provide temporary employment and individual training for long-term unemployed and socially excluded. Eligibility for Community Employment can be easily checked with your local employment office and they can submit you for interview for a vacancy that suits you at a location that suits you also.
Where can you work In NTLP with a CE placement?
Work Placement Options within NTLP
- Community Creche working with babies to children at preschool level.
- Maintenance work. Member of team engaged in upkeep and upgrading of physical facilities of Community Resource Centre both internal & external. In addition supporting the HSE and Family Support workers in Roscrea through Social care support work.
- Caretaking/security opportunity.
- Office skills/administrative/reception opportunity.
- Opportunity to be part of a dynamic youth project team involved in local youth initiatives.
- Opportunity to be part of NTLP Afterschools Programme based in Nenagh.
- Part of service team operating a Community Cafe facility involved in food preparation, cleaning, money handling, stocktaking & customer service.
Who are we ?
North Tipperary LEADER Partnership acts as a host organization for participants and ensures that CE learners participating in the programme:
- Get the opportunity to complete a professional work experience in the organisation.
- Gain access to progression & job related training opportunities, to enable individuals to develop personally & professionally.
- Get support in using both the work experience and training opportunities for personal development so as to progress to full employment/further education on completion of their time on the programme.
Services Offered
Community Employment (CE) Work Placement with NTLP
Each learner on CE will be given an Individual Training Plan (ILP) which will outline work experience and both job specific and progression training.
CE Training Options within NTLP
- Opportunity to participate in Organisational training e.g. H&S /Child protection
- In house training available in a number of areas e.g. HACCP/Computers/Core skills/Childcare
- Access to Back to Education Initiative (BTEI) funded FETAC programmes in local area eg St Shealans Templemore, Roscrea Education Centre and Teach an Leinn in Nenagh
- Opportunity to avail of work experience option 4wks /26 wks.
