Local and Community Development Progra
The new Local Community Development Programme, which replaces the old LDSIP, aims to tackle poverty and social exclusion through partnership and constructive engagement between Government and people in the most disadvantaged communities.
NTLP through the Local Community Development Programme aims to achieve the following 4 goals:
1. Promote awareness, knowledge and uptake of a wide-range of statutory, voluntary and community services.
2. Increase access to formal and informal educational, recreational and cultural activities and resources.
3. Increase client work readiness and employment propects.
4. Promote engagement in policy, practice and decision making processes on matters affecting local communities.

The County Profiles draw out the significant trends, and areas of greatest deprivation from a vast amount of available data. The profile refers to the four census waves from 1991 to 2006, and were part of the GAMMA Baseline Reports for each of the Partnerships in Spring 2008. This profile is accompanied by a DATA file giving a detailed breakdown of North Tipperary Statistics.

Company publications:
• A Socio-Economic and Demographic Profile of North Tipperary: In this document, Dr. Brendan O'Keeffe of the Geography Department of Mary Immaculate College, has drawn together data from the Census of Population and Census of Agriculture. Together with the maps attached above, they give a spatial analysis of the main development issues and trends within the County, at the level of the Electoral Division.
• Consultations with local focus groups in North Tipperary:
This 2008 research and report by Norah Walls, was carried out to identify some of the main issues and needs in the county, to inform NTLP's extension of the community development services throughout North Tipperary. (part of the new Local and Community Development Programme)
Focus groups included Women’s Groups, people who have been unemployed, people on ‘Return to Work’ and Information Technology courses and a group employed on Rural Social Scheme project work. Interviews were also held with the North Tipperary Traveller Network, with some of the outgoing board members and staff of the Borrisokane Partnership Company and with representatives of agencies providing social services in Thurles town.
• Meetings Regarding New Local Development Structures in North:
This is a report on meetings facilitated by Ciarán Lynch and Mary Larkin from Tipperary Institute, in venues around North Tipperary during early December 2007. These meetings were held to disseminate information about the new Rural Development/Social Inclusion Company for North Tipperary (now North Tipperary LEADER Partnership/NTLP) and provide guidance to the new Board in organising NTLP's activities.
The Venues for these community-based meetings were: Horse and Jockey, Portroe, Templemore, Borrisokane, Kilcommon and Newport.
